Fresh Bluefin tuna (and other tuna species when the ocean cooperates)
Quincy, Massachusetts · Est. 2025
Two-person commercial tuna crew. Rod & reel. Fresh Bluefin for local dealers. No online shop — just a fancy home for the operation we love.
Who we are
Blue Gold Fisheries, LLC is a Massachusetts manager-managed company formed July 28, 2025. We run commercial tuna fishing out of Quincy — primarily Atlantic Bluefin — and sell high-quality fresh catch straight to licensed seafood dealers.
Bait fish like mackerel, whiting, and bluefish stay on the boat (they’re tools, not product). Our edge is simple: low overhead, local knowledge, and a two-person crew that lives for peak season.
Provide high-quality fresh tuna to local dealers while operating safely and sustainably — and having a ridiculous amount of fun doing it.
The Catch
Northeast commercial tuna is seasonal and quota-driven. Demand for Bluefin stays strong — sashimi-grade quality and local markets both matter. We fish within retention limits and focus on consistent supply to dealers who know quality when they see it.

The Crew
Manager-managed LLC · 50/50 ownership · Attorney & accountant on deck for the paper side
Logistics · Marketing · Sales
Keeps dealers happy, paperwork sane, and the business side of Blue Gold moving — so the fish can keep coming over the rail.
Vessel Ops · Maintenance
Runs the boat like a pro — engines, gear, and the thousand little things that keep a commercial tuna day from turning into a story you don’t want to tell.
The Calendar
Peak is August through October. Click a month to see how the season feels on our end.
Peak fire. Long days, lots of fuel, and Bluefin on the brain.
Peak months mean near full-time ops — home only a handful of days. Off-peak is quieter: maintenance, planning, and shorter windows when conditions allow.
How it works
Fuel, ice, bait, safety gear check, lines ready. No half-measures.
Rod & reel for Bluefin within limits — skill, patience, and local knowledge.
Quality handling is everything. Fresh fish is the whole product.
Direct relationships in Gloucester, New Bedford, Quincy, and nearby markets.
Because why not
